Brian Communications is a strategic communications agency, led by Brian Tierney, with expertise in strategic counsel and planning, branding and advertising, public relations and crisis communications. As one of the fastest-growing communications firms in the region with headquarters in Center City Philadelphia and satellite offices in Ardmore and Conshohocken, we are currently seeking an Assistant Account Executive (AAE) to join our growing team. This role is a full-time opportunity with a hybrid (WFH/Office) schedule.
We are in the office 3 days a week.
The Role:
The Assistant Account Executive (AAE) will support account teams in executing various strategic comms activities for our clients. This entry-level position is ideal for someone who is eager to learn and grow within the public relations/communications field. The AAE will assist in developing and maintaining media relationships, creating PR materials, conducting research, and supporting client accounts.
- Provide support to account teams in delivering media analyses/reports, developing comprehensive media lists, creating background materials, flagging key industry and client-related media placements.
- Assist agency leaders and account teams in identifying logistical options, vendors and other key information (including pricing) in support of events, presentations and media campaigns and day-to-day ideation, which require smart budgeting.
- Media pitching at Brian Communications is a contact sport and a core responsibility for Assistant Account Executives. You will not only assist in drafting key media materials (press release, media advisory, fact sheet, reporter backgrounders, etc.) but also in securing media placements, often working the phones in advance of events and client announcements.
- Demonstrate a general knowledge of social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Twitter (X), YouTube) and basic principles of community engagement.
- Enter and track time daily in Harvest and assist in the preparation of client billing summaries for accounts
- Maintain a professional manner.
- Act as a mentor to agency interns
- Additional duties as assigned and deemed appropriate.

- Is an active listener and synthesizer of information across various accounts and industries

- Is a detail – and deadline – oriented individual with a love of learning (Nope. It doesn’t end with graduation)

- Is keeping their eyes and ears on the stories shaping our industry
- Is Proficient in Cision, Meltwater and Microsoft Suite

Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of experience
- B.S. in Public Relations, Communications, or a related field
- Strong interest in healthcare, technology and/or B2B communications
- Possess great time management skills on multiple accounts and ability to prioritize
- You're a team player with the willingness to work collaboratively alongside peers
- You're resourceful and know when to ask questions, and where to look for answers
