Job Description
The Senior Technical Consultant - Electrical - Melbourne, provides technical consulting services and expert advice to our customers in the insurance and legal industries relating to insurance claims and legal matters involving electrical and electro-mechanical equipment failures, breakdowns, damage, defects, and safety issues following a wide range of incidents.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Consulting
- Provide forensic engineering consulting services to our clients in your areas of expertise, such as:
- Mechanical and electrical equipment failure analysis
- Damage assessment of mechanical, electrical and electronic equipment
- Determine reinstatement options, timelines and costs
- Fire origin and cause investigations
- Work with clients, legal counsel and technical staff to mitigate exposure to risk and loss
Business Development
- Identify and meet with prospective clients to promote our services
- Maintain relationships with existing client base
- Attend industry events, occasionally providing presentations at conferences and the like
- Create and present webinars to the Asia – Pacific market
- Participate with the development and implementation of visions and strategic plans for Oceania business
- Share your expertise with other members of the team
Other
- Stays abreast of industry information, developments, and trends; maintains an understanding of the internal and external factors affecting the business; participates in ongoing training and development as assigned or approved to assure knowledge and skills remain current and comprehensive.
- Functions as an effective member of the team, assisting co-workers as needed and learning from colleagues and supervisors; supports the goals of the department and organization; demonstrates initiative in the interest of the client and the organization.

Maintains the confidentiality of proprietary and sensitive information, exercising sound judgment and discretion in any disclosure of information related to Envista Forensics, LLC. and their endeavors.
- Adheres to all applicable Insurance Regulation requirements and other applicable laws, regulations, and standards; assumes personal responsibility for maintaining the requisite license for the country/region assigned.
- Perform other duties and/or responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited University
- 7+ years practical experience in industry; preferably industrial, commercial or manufacturing
- Direct diagnostic and problem solving experience with power systems
- Power analysis or power generation experience
- Hands-on experience with electro-mechanical equipment inspections
- Past forensic investigation/engineering experience strongly preferred
- Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time
- Excellent reading, writing, and comprehension abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs
- Well organized and excellent time management skills to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to clearly and professionally articulate findings to clients both verbally and in written form
