HRE represents healthy, stressed and distressed multi-location companies, providing strategic advisory and transactional services including negotiating and repositioning over 80,000 leases in the past 20+ years, helping companies improve leverage and cash flow by minimizing costs and mitigating lease liability. The HRE team has played a pivotal role in several high-profile bankruptcy cases—including J.Crew, Cineworld/Regal Cinemas, and WeWork—earning a strong reputation among leading financial advisors, private equity firms, lending institutions, and law firms as a top-tier restructuring expert. This individual will play a key role in business development and revenue generation, working on current engagements and prospective opportunities.
We are seeking candidates with a mastery of Excel and keen attention to detail; a team member with this skillset will enhance the efficiency and productivity of Hilco Real Estate’s lease negotiators. Job Responsibilities:
- Provide analytical support to the lease advisory team. Responsible for analyzing commercial real estate lease portfolio data, reviewing corporate financials, in addition to researching clients, markets, and assessing broader industry dynamics
- Enhance the operational efficiency of the business by managing the collection, organization, storage, and distribution of critical information and data
- Serve in a key client relationship role, interacting with Fortune 500 business executives and real estate and restructuring industry leaders
- A variety of other consultative and transaction-specific projects as assigned
Qualifications:
- Technically proficient; fluent with Microsoft Office suite (mastery of Excel required) with the ability to quickly dissect, comprehend, and present relevant lease, property, market and industry-related data
- Strong organizational, analytical and critical thinking abilities, with proven problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ideal candidate must be a self-starter and quick study with an entrepreneurial spirit
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills, and ability to work effectively in teams
- Self-confidence and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment with tight deadlines
- A desire and capacity to support both business development and ongoing client management processes
Education/Experience:
- Undergraduate degree is required; 1-2 years’ experience in a business environment is preferred. Background in commercial real estate is optimal, and legal background is a plus

In compliance with Illinois Pay Transparency Law, the base salary range for this role in Illinois is between $60,000 and $70,000. This range does not include discretionary bonus or other forms of compensation or benefits offered in connection with this job. Several factors are considered when determining a candidate’s compensation. Please note that the salary range listed for this position is based on the level of experience outlined in the job description.
