BirdseyePost is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team. You'll work alongside experienced engineers from companies like Databricks, Loblaws, Discord, and NVIDIA. As a senior member of our engineering team, you'll lead design discussions, think critically about product needs, and drive implementation with a focus on business value. About the Role
We're offering a full-time position focused on backend and data engineering starting in January 2025. You’ll be responsible for leading design and implementation across different parts of our stack, ensuring scalability and reliability for our growing customer base.
What We're Looking For
- 3-5+ years of experience
- Strong Python experience, with expertise in backend. Familiarity with FastAPI or Pydantic is a plus. Frontend skills in React or NextJS are a plus. Experience with Redis or other in-memory stores is a plus.
- Experience in data engineering, including SQL and some knowledge of Apache Spark, Databricks, OLTP, and OLAP databases. Familiarity with distributed computing frameworks such as Ray or Beam is a plus. Familiarity with orchestration frameworks such as Airflow, Kubeflow, or Dagster is a plus.
- Experience working with Terraform, Kubernetes, and Docker for building and scaling applications. Familiarity with GitHub Actions is a plus.
- Experience working with GCP, particularly with GKE, Cloud SQL, Pub/Sub, and BigQuery. Familiarity with Vertex AI, Dataproc, and Dataflow is a plus
- Ability to lead design discussions and consider the broader product and business impact of your work.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with a track record of driving product-oriented solutions.
- Early-stage startup experience is highly valued, with the ability to adapt and thrive in a dynamic environment.
- Experience in software testing, ensuring quality and reliability of code.
