You will drive Platform as a Product initiatives, ensuring scalability, security, and reliability across our cloud environments. Acting as a trusted expert, you will collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to design and implement robust, high-availability architectures.In this role, you will lead critical infrastructure projects, optimize cloud operations, and enforce best practices in automation, security, and cost management. You will mentor engineers, fostering a high-performance DevOps culture while remaining hands-on in system design, coding, and problem-solving.
Your expertise in Kubernetes, cloud networking, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) will be instrumental in driving technical innovation and operational excellence.Key Responsibilities:
- Spearhead Platform as a Product initiatives, driving adoption and best practices.
- Define and implement long-term strategies for infrastructure scalability and reliability.
- Architect, lead, build, and maintain scalable, resilient, and secure cloud infrastructure.
- Architect, lead and build infrastructure provisioning, CI/CD pipelines, and system monitoring at scale.
- Act as a key technical expert in Kubernetes, cloud networking, and container security.
- Implement and enforce best practices in cloud security, compliance, and governance.
- Guide incident management processes, conduct post-mortem analysis, and drive continuous improvement.
- Optimize cloud costs, ensuring efficient resource utilization.
- Take ownership of critical production issues, overseeing resolution and post-incident improvements.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to align technical strategies with business objectives.
- Champion a culture of innovation, automation, and operational excellence.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to engineers while remaining hands-on in coding, debugging, and system design.
- Drive technical innovation, introducing new tools and frameworks to improve efficiency.
- Lead architectural discussions, design reviews, and implementation strategies for cloud infrastructure.
- Define long-term infrastructure strategies that align with business objectives.
The Ideal candidate will have:
- Expert-level knowledge of Kubernetes, including cluster management, networking, security, and operators.
- Deep experience with AWS services such as IAM, EKS, S3, RDS, Lambda, and VPC.
- Strong proficiency in Python for automation and infrastructure management.
- Extensive experience with CI/CD automation, using tools like GitHub Actions.
- Mastery of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, Helm, Pulumi, or Crossplane.
- Understanding of service mesh technologies like Istio or Linkerd beneficial.
- Strong understanding of microservices architecture, Kubernetes Operators, and service mesh technologies.
- Deep knowledge of cloud security best practices, compliance, and governance.
- Extensive experience in implementing observability solutions, including monitoring, logging, and tracing.
- Hands-on experience in high-availability architectures and disaster recovery planning.
- Proven ability to optimize system performance, scalability, and resilience.
- Exceptional leadership and decision-making abilities in high-impact technical environments.
- Ability to drive strategic initiatives and align them with business goals.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to debug and resolve complex infrastructure issues.
- Effective communication skills, capable of translating deep technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to balance hands-on engineering with strategic technical leadership.
- Commitment to fostering a high-performance culture, mentoring, and team development.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with evolving priorities.
- Proactive in identifying technical debt and proposing scalable solutions.
- Experience in mentoring and upskilling engineers, fostering a strong DevOps culture.

Qualifications Required:
- Experience working in international/multi-site environments.
- Experience working in a regulated industry (advantageous).
- Experience managing or leading technical teams (advantageous).
- Experience working in early-stage technology companies.
- 8+ years of experience across software development or DevOps environments
- Undergraduate or Postgraduate degree in an appropriate field (Engineering, Computer Science, Science)
- Experience working in international/multi-site environments
Location and Travel: (Dublin)
- Hybrid role - Dublin City Centre, Ireland, currently this is set to 2 days per week onsite.
- Our Dublin City Centre offices are located less than 3 mins for Pearse St Dart Station and beside the Alex Hotel, making it accessible for all major transport.
- We also offer flexible start/ end times, allowing your schedule to suit your lifestyle
