Summary/Objective  


Security Risk Advisors is looking for an enthusiastic, motivated candidate to join our Business Operations Team as an Accounts Assistant in Kilkenny. The Accounts Assistant will work with our Accounting Team on critical financial functions, maintaining records, and developing our accounting systems and procedures.   

Essential Functions

  • Process invoices and complete supplier statement reconciliations 

  • Prepare payment runs and monitor bank account funding requirements 

  • Review and approve monthly expense reports 

  • Prepare monthly payroll as far as review stage 

  • Assist with the month end process - Process monthly journals, accruals and prepayments 

  • Prepare periodical VAT returns 

  • Maintain fixed assets register 

  • Continue to improve internal systems & controls and ensure all documentation is kept up to date 

  • Contribute to the greater finance team with various ad hoc projects 

  • Assist in preparation of year end audit file 

  • Liaise with internal and external partners and stakeholders 

  • Contribute to the greater Finance and Business Operations teams through various tasks and ad hoc projects

Work Environment  


This job operates in a professional office environment or remotely as needed/required. This role routinely uses standard office equipment. This role will be in-person during the initial full onboarding and training period and then may become hybrid.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work  


This is a full-time position and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday 8:30am to 5pm. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Requirements


Required Education and Experience  


  • 0 - 2 years' relevant experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field or studying towards an Accountancy qualification (ATI/ACCA/CIMA etc.) 

  • Eligibility to work in Ireland (No visa/sponsorship will be provided) 

  • Punctuality and timely attendance to external client and internal stakeholder needs. 

  • Understanding of basic accounting principles 

  • Proficiency with MS Office, particularly Excel  

  • Willingness to learn, eagerness to progress and ability to assume responsibility 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to liaise with senior management 

Preferred Qualifications and Experience  


  • Knowledge of Accounting & Payroll software (e.g. Sage, BrightPay) a plus.
