About the role


The Finance Associate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of both the finance and administrative functions in Turaco Ghana. This role requires a detail-oriented and organized individual with a strong understanding of accounting principles and administrative procedures.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:


Accounting

  • Data Entry: Meticulously enter all approved cash transactions into the accounting softwares (QuickBooks/Fathom) to maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Petty Cash Management: Prepare and disburse petty cash payments in accordance with company policies and procedures, ensuring proper documentation and accountability.
  • Reconciliations: Perform regular reconciliations of petty cash and expense accounts to identify and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage cash balances to ensure sufficient funds are available to meet all payment obligations.
  • Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports, providing accurate and timely financial information to management.

Other Duties

  • Asset Register: Maintain an accurate and up-to-date asset register, tracking company assets and recording any changes.
  • Prepare and make bank deposits, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to banking procedures.
  • Invoice Processing: Review and process invoices, verifying accuracy and coding them appropriately for payment.
  • Vendor Management: Maintain positive relationships with vendors, ensuring timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Document Management: File all finance and administrative documents in a well-organized and professional manner, ensuring easy retrieval and compliance with record-keeping requirements.

Key Qualifications

  • 2 to 4 years of experience in Accounting.
  • Bachelor’s degree qualification in Finance
  • Professional qualifications as a CA or ATSWA
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office Tools, Accounting Systems like QuickBooks, and Data Analysis tools.
  • A background in Insurance is an added advantage.
  • Sound interpersonal skills and communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and take initiative; demonstrate self-motivation and energy, work well under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Willingness to work as a team member with people across geographies and cultures.
