Role Summary
MetaPhase is seeking a DevSecOps Engineer with
5 to 7
+ years of experience to support a mission-critical initiative by enhancing security and automation across cloud and on-premise environments. This role involves integrating security into the software development lifecycle and implementing best practices in continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD).
What You Will Be Doing
- Implementing and managing security controls in cloud and hybrid environments.
- Automating security testing and compliance checks within CI/CD pipelines.
- Working with development and operations teams to embed security best practices.
- Deploying and managing monitoring and logging tools for security visibility.
- Ensuring compliance with industry security standards and frameworks.
- Set up incident response protocols, plans, and procedures.
- Train others on security best practices.
What We Need From You (Required)
- U.S. Citizenship required (NO EXCEPTIONS).
- Must have experience working with the U.S. Federal Government.
- A minimum of 5 to 7+ years of experience in DevSecOps, cybersecurity, or cloud security.
- Strong understanding of DevSecOps methodologies and CI/CD tools.
- Hands-on experience with security automation tools.
- Experience with cloud security on AWS and/or Azure.
- Applied knowledge of DevSecOps practices and principles such as continuous improvement, automation, CI/CD, and shift left.
- Superb verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences throughout an organization.
- Ability to create training materials and conduct training sessions.
- Certification: AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, or Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, or Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist, or similar level professional DevOps certification.
Bonus Points (Desired)
- Experience with compliance frameworks (NIST, FedRAMP, ISO 27001).
- Proficient in utilizing Ansible to automate configuration management and deployment tasks.
- Skilled in using Jira for project tracking and Confluence for collaborative documentation and knowledge sharing.
- Knowledge of zero-trust architecture principles.
Work Location
Hybrid – Washington, DC. Will be onsite 2-3 days a week.

Education Level
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or computer information systems, or related 4-year degree required
Clearance Level
Ability to Obtain a Public Trust; U.S. Citizenship required (NO EXCEPTIONS)
Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is 120k-180k.
