Role Overview


The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) ensures consistent supplier quality performance, effectively resolves production issues, manages technical requirements, and oversees quality-related projects for major retail client orders. This role combines technical expertise, engineering support, and proactive project management to achieve continuous improvement and compliance with company and customer quality expectations.

Key Responsibilities


  • Conduct supplier audits, evaluating manufacturing processes, quality management systems, corrective actions, PPAP, FMEA, SOPs, and Production Control Plans.

  • Monitor supplier performance metrics (defect rates, reject rates, delivery reliability) and proactively drive continuous improvement.

  • Collaborate with suppliers to enhance incoming/first-article inspection (FAI), in-process, and final product inspections aligned with company specifications.

  • Ensure supplier adherence to defined AQL standards and effective use of Statistical Process Control (SPC).

  • Project manage quality requirements for major retail customer orders, ensuring compliance with stringent quality standards.

  • Engage proactively with Procurement, Manufacturing, and Engineering teams to align quality expectations across stakeholders.

  • Provide clear, actionable reporting to management on supplier performance, risk assessment, and improvement recommendations.

  • Collaborate with Product Engineering to define, communicate, and validate technical specifications and requirements clearly with suppliers.

  • Review engineering drawings, material specifications, product documentation, and manage Engineering Change Requests/Notifications (ECR/ECN), ensuring accurate supplier implementation.

  • Proactively support suppliers in resolving technical issues, implementing engineering changes, and improving product manufacturability and quality.

Qualifications & Experience


  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Production Engineering, or related discipline.

  • 5-10 years' experience in Supplier Quality Engineering or Quality Management within manufacturing, consumer electronics, or related industries.

  • Practical experience with electrical consumer product manufacturing, assembly processes, and quality/safety compliance testing.

  • Proficiency in reading technical drawings, specifications, and production documentation.

  • Excellent relationship-building skills with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

  • Previous experience managing quality for major retail or international brand projects preferred.

  • Native Mandarin speaker with business-level English.

  • Willingness to travel regularly to supplier sites.
