OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are seeking a dedicated Partnerships Leader to strategically expand our market presence and drive growth within our Workers' Compensation, Cyber, Commercial General Liability (CGL), Management Liability/Employment Practices Liability (EPL), and Umbrella lines of business. This role is critical for cultivating robust agency partnerships, enhancing direct PolicyOwner relationships, and proactively educating brokers, insureds, and internal teams about our products.Success will be measured by the depth and effectiveness of established partnerships, the ability to drive profitable premium growth aligned with our defined underwriting appetite, successful execution of cross-selling initiatives, and strategic use of marketing to strengthen our market position—ultimately contributing to sustained underwriting profitability, enhanced client satisfaction, and reinforced industry leadership.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
Relationship Management & Business Development:
- Generate, nurture, and sustain new business opportunities through both existing and new distribution relationships, specifically within Workers' Compensation, Cyber, CGL, Management Liability/EPL, and Umbrella lines.
- Act as the primary liaison and key point of contact for distribution partners, triaging service requests effectively within the broader underwriting team.
- Cultivate and enhance relationships with agency partners and direct PolicyOwners to increase client retention, satisfaction, and sustained business growth.
New Business Pipeline Management:
- Oversee and manage the pipeline of new business submissions, including initial intake, establishing clear timelines, coordinating closely with underwriting teams to provide competitive quotes, and conducting timely follow-up actions.
- Collaborate proactively with medical malpractice liability counterparts to identify, develop, and execute strategic cross-sell opportunities.
Carrier Relationships & Market Intelligence:
- Leverage existing carrier leadership relationships to remain informed about market developments, underwriting strategies, new product introductions, and key organizational changes, using these insights to enhance strategic planning and market responsiveness.
Education & Internal Training:
- Deliver comprehensive education to brokers, insureds, and internal staff to deepen their understanding of Workers' Compensation, Cyber, CGL, Management Liability/EPL, and Umbrella products, enhancing market confidence and underwriting discipline.
- Provide internal training and development sessions, ensuring underwriting teams, marketing, and sales colleagues maintain current product knowledge, market awareness, and cross-selling capabilities.
Industry Representation & Conferences:
- Actively participate and represent the organization at industry conferences, trade events, and seminars, acting as a thought leader and visible ambassador for the team.
- Conduct impactful presentations for distribution partners, raising product awareness, credibility, and enhancing industry engagement.
Marketing Collaboration & Content Development:
- Collaborate closely with marketing teams to promote key initiatives, products, and services effectively, significantly enhancing market penetration across Workers' Compensation, Cyber, CGL, Management Liability/EPL, and Umbrella segments.
- Coordinate with content specialists to ensure tailored and strategic support, advice, and engagement for distribution partners and PolicyOwners.
Performance Evaluation & Strategic Optimization:
- Regularly evaluate partnership effectiveness and leverage performance analytics to optimize strategies for maximum market impact, client retention, and underwriting profitability.
- Collaborate with distribution partners to consistently achieve profitable outcomes aligned with underwriting guidelines, targeted rate adequacy, and premium persistency objectives.
Qualifications & Experience Required:
- College or graduate degree preferred; professional designations such as CIC, CPCU, RPLU strongly valued.
- 5+ years of experience in business development, strategic partnerships, or distribution strategy—preferably within the insurance industry, with a strong focus on workers’ compensation, professional liability, and cyber.
- Proven track record of identifying, cultivating, and scaling strategic relationships that drive sustained revenue growth and market expansion.
- Active Property & Casualty license, including non-resident agent licenses in key or assigned states.
- Strong working knowledge of coverage structures, underwriting approaches, and market trends across W/C, professional liability, and cyber lines.
- Demonstrated experience engaging with executive leadership, Boards, and cross-functional internal stakeholders to align partnership initiatives with organizational goals.
- Ability to think strategically and analyze market opportunities, competitor positioning, and emerging risks to shape partnership direction.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills—skilled at storytelling, building trust, and influencing decision-makers.
- Superior negotiation skills with the ability to navigate complex deal structures and bring creative solutions to the table.
- Willingness to travel as needed to support relationship development and account growth.
