In this critical role, you'll oversee risk assessment, pricing strategies, underwriting compliance, portfolio management, and proactively drive internal cross-sell opportunities across product lines. The ideal candidate will leverage deep cyber underwriting expertise, extensive market relationships, and proven leadership skills to enhance profitability, growth, and client value.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, manage, and continuously refine cyber insurance program guidelines, policy forms, endorsements, and underwriting procedures.
- Evaluate cyber risk submissions, ensuring optimal risk selection, competitive pricing, and adherence to underwriting standards.
- Leverage deep industry contacts and extensive market knowledge to drive program growth and enhance distribution channels.
- Collaborate effectively with brokers, reinsurers, product development, claims, risk management, and compliance teams.
- Monitor and analyze cyber claims trends, adjusting underwriting strategies to improve profitability and maintain market competitiveness.
- Provide underwriting expertise, training, and mentorship to internal underwriting teams, supporting professional growth and high-quality service delivery.
- Maintain robust relationships with brokers, carriers, reinsurers, and industry partners to support retention, growth, and market expansion.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Risk Management, Finance, Insurance, or related field. (Equivalent experience may be considered.)
- Minimum 7 years underwriting cyber liability or related professional liability products; specific experience in cyber insurance programs preferred.
- Proven leadership experience and ability to mentor underwriting professionals.
- Extensive knowledge of cyber risk management, cyber liability coverage, and regulatory compliance.
- Exceptional analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency with underwriting software, rating platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong existing relationships with brokers, agents, carriers, and reinsurers.
- Professional certifications such as CPCU, RPLU, CIC, CRM, or similar are highly desirable.
