The Role


Telnyx infrastructure team is building a next-generation platform that spans across multiple cloud providers and multiple continents. We leverage the Telnyx private backbone network with cross-connects to major cloud providers like AWS, Azure, GCP, and IBM Cloud to build a cloud-agnostic, highly available platform. With our lean team, we're currently running infrastructure in 10 PoPs and 3 continents.

In This Role You Will


  • Design, develop, and deploy scalable solutions for managing databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, Cassandra, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Redis, and others, both in virtualized environments and Kubernetes clusters.
  • Collaborate with engineering to identify and resolve pain points in managing large-scale, high-availability database infrastructure.
  • Lead the migration of existing database services from VMs to Kubernetes, ensuring minimal downtime and seamless transitions.
  • Support disaster recovery, backup strategies, and performance tuning for on-premise database systems.
  • Implement and manage observability, logging, and alerting systems. 

Must-Have Experience:


  • 3+ years of professional experience in infrastructure operations, especially in Linux-based systems.
  • Expertise in at least one deployment and orchestration technology (Kubernetes, Ansible, or Terraform), with a focus on deploying and managing stateful applications
  • Skills in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or similar, to automate workflows and manage infrastructure.
  • Hands-on experience managing at least one relational databases like PostgreSQL or MySQL

You’d Be A Good Fit If You Have


  • Experience with non-relational databases such as Cassandra, OpenSearch, or other distributed data stores.
  • Familiarity with streaming and messaging platforms like Kafka or RabbitMQ, including scaling and monitoring in a distributed setup.
  • Proficiency in observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, or others to ensure system performance and reliability.

Bonus Points For:


  • Knowledge of service discovery tools like Consul, or similar technologies, would be a great advantage
