We inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.
Our program currently serves Chester, Delaware, & Montgomery PA. In FY 2025, over 1800 girls participated in our life changing program. To learn more about our program and impact, please visit: https://www.gotrpa.org/The Girls on the Run program provides a safe and interactive way to learn about healthy living which includes an introduction and education on important topics such as goal-setting, cooperation, healthy decision-making, and self-respect, while training for a 5K event. The innovative curriculum teaches girls to listen and open up while also encouraging them to commit to a healthy lifestyle and harness the inner strength that they possess. Our important mission is accomplished by giving girls the tools to make positive choices for a healthy body and mind, while reducing the many risks they face today.Girls on the Run believes that all girls and communities should have access to our programs.
We commit to eliminate barriers to participation, to continue creating programming that engages all communities, to be intentional about staff and volunteer diversity and to promote a culture of inclusion across the organization.Position OverviewThe Program Outreach Manager is responsible for expanding the visibility, engagement, and reach of Girls on the Run Southeastern Suburban PA. This role will focus on program outreach to grow participation and site partnerships while developing and managing strategic communication initiatives, including marketing, social media, and community engagement. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Program Outreach
- Build and maintain relationships with schools, community organizations, and other potential program sites to expand Girls on the Run programming
- Develop outreach strategies to recruit and retain new program sites, coaches, and participants.
- Collaborate with the Program Team to ensure sites have the necessary support and resources for program success.
- Represent Girls on the Run at community events, fairs, and networking opportunities to increase awareness and foster partnerships.
Communications and Marketing
- Create and implement a comprehensive communication strategy that aligns with the organization’s mission and goals.
- Develop and execute marketing campaigns to increase program enrollment, volunteer recruitment, and community engagement.
- Manage and grow Girls on the Run’s presence on social media platforms, ensuring consistent and engaging content.
- Design and distribute newsletters, press releases, and other marketing materials.
- Monitor and analyze communication metrics to evaluate effectiveness and guide future strategies.
Community Engagement
- Act as the primary point of contact for media inquiries and public relations efforts.
- Develop relationships with local businesses and community leaders to secure partnerships.
- Collaborate with the Fundraising Team to support events and campaigns that promote organizational visibility and community support.
Qualifications
- Experience in communications, marketing, nonprofit management, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in outreach, communications, or marketing, preferably in the nonprofit sector.
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with a focus on creating impactful content.
- Proficiency in social media management tools, graphic design software (e.g., Canva, Adobe Suite), and email marketing platforms.
- Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Passion for empowering girls and a commitment to the mission of Girls on the Run.
- Ability to work weekends and evening hours

- Experience in program outreach and volunteer recruitment
- Knowledge of the local community and regional landscape
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
- Experience working or volunteering with a youth wellness nonprofit
