As a Hedging Operations Intern you will have an opportunity to support and gain exposure to several business areas including Hedging, Valuation, Assumptions, Risk Management, Investment Operations, and Investment Management Analytics.
Specific responsibilities will vary but may include:
- Assist in the identification of new hedging opportunities and the development of strategies.
- Update and develop Excel spreadsheets that support hedging decisions utilizing Excel formulae and data utilities as well as VBA macros.
- Develop and present PowerPoint presentations or memorandums to summarize analysis and results for various types of audiences including immediate teams as well as for the CRO/CFO of the company.
- Provide comprehensive analytical support for the implementation of innovative hedging strategies to mitigate Actuarial, Financial, and Capital Market risks
- Work on cross-functional projects with Risk, assumptions, valuation, and hedge strategy teams.
- Use data analysis tools to summarize data extracts, organize data at varying levels, and interpret trends in data for various purposes such as assumption setting, investigating drivers behind hedging P&L movement, and risk reporting.
- Build an understanding of variable annuity product features and the primary risk drivers.
- Gain an understanding of market data and various metrics that are used to measure risks associated with variable annuities.
- Build and maintain documentation on processes.
Qualifications:
Students applying to this internship should be at the graduate student level; active in pursuit of a Master's in Quantitative Finance, Financial Engineering or related advanced degree. Students should possess a strong mathematical aptitude, solid technical skills, and display personal initiative.Strong verbal and written communication skills & strong technical skills inclusive of advanced Excel functions.Exposure to additional programming languages like Python, VBA, & SQL is a plus.Note: Students should have the availability to work our hybrid in office schedule in our West Chester, PA office during the summer of 2025.#LI-DNI
