Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented
Multispecialty Denial Coder to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in OBGYN, Anesthesia, Surgery, and Denials Management, ensuring accurate coding, compliance, and optimal reimbursement. This role involves auditing medical records, identifying documentation deficiencies, resolving coding denials, and serving as a subject matter expert to the coding team and care providers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately code diagnostic and procedural information for multispecialty services, including OBGYN, Anesthesia, and Surgery, ensuring compliance with coding guidelines.
- Research and analyze denial trends, identify root causes, and develop corrective action plans to reduce claim denials and optimize reimbursement.
- Audit clinical documentation and coded data to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements, payer policies, and industry standards.
- Work closely with physicians, billing teams, and other stakeholders to clarify documentation, resolve discrepancies, and provide coding education.
- Identify reportable elements, complications, and procedures to support medical necessity and justify reimbursement.
- Utilize knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, and payer guidelines to ensure appropriate coding and claim submission.
- Act as a coding consultant for providers, offering guidance on documentation improvement to enhance coding accuracy and revenue integrity.
- Stay updated on changing regulations, coding updates, and payer policies to maintain compliance and efficiency.
Skills & Requirements:
- CPC Certification (Certified Professional Coder) is mandatory.
- Minimum of 1+ years of experience in Medical Coding, specifically in Denials Management.
- Specialized experience in OBGYN, Anesthesia, Surgery, and Denials Management.
- Strong analytical skills to research and resolve coding-related denials.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for provider and team interactions.
- Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in EHR systems and medical coding software.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
