The Opportunity:
Recycling Management Resources is seeking a qualified, motivated Scale Operator to join our team. The Scale Operator is responsible for using a computerized scale to weigh incoming and outgoing vehicles. This position requires computer proficiency, and our ideal candidate has prior experience with trucking and industrial workplace safety. Shift Hours: Monday - Friday, 7 am - 4 pm.
How you will make an impact:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following satisfactorily; other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.This position will be responsible for, but not limited to the following duties:
- Operating primary (large) and secondary (small) scales.
- Creating and closing tickets on secondary, small scale.
- Scheduling pallet trailer swaps, metal, and Waste Management open top swaps.
- Processing freight invoices.
- Corresponding with suppliers when necessary.
- Maintaining a safe, organized working environment.
What you need to succeed:
- 1 year of prior scale operation experience preferred.
- Computer proficiency.
Required Skills and Competencies:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience in trucking or in an industrial yard environment.
- Basic math skills.
- Perform other duties as directed.
Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is in a plant environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
