Position Summary
The Workover Foreman will oversee and coordinate workover and well intervention operations in the Eagle Ford region. This role requires strong leadership, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication with contractors, engineers, and field personnel to ensure efficient and safe execution of workover operations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in well servicing, rig operations, and artificial lift systems, with a proactive approach to safety, budgeting, and operational efficiency.
The position is based in Carrizo Springs, TX field office.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan, implement, and manage workover and well intervention activities in alignment with operational priorities and goals.
- Supervise well site consultants and possibly rig crews, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
- Monitor and manage well intervention procedures, including completions, workovers, and remedial operations.
- Ensure adherence to all safety regulations, mitigating potential hazards in workover operations.
- Oversee and guide the use of specialized machinery and equipment, including rigs, pumps, and artificial lift systems.
- Manage expenditures and ensure that projects stay on or under budget.
- Review and interpret well schematics, P&IDs, and other technical drawings to guide workover operations.
- Establish priorities for workover operations based on safety concerns, production efficiency, and well integrity.
- Communicate effectively with engineers, contractors, and field personnel regarding project status and emerging issues.
- Coordinate well maintenance activities such as tubing replacement, sand cleanouts, and artificial lift optimizations.
- Maintain accurate records of all workover activities, equipment usage, and contractor performance.
- Review service requests and determine workover requirements, ensuring optimal scheduling and execution.
- Provide expertise on various forms of artificial lift systems and associated hazards, ensuring safe facility and wellhead designs.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts on downhole issues and ensure rapid response to well failures.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and proper documentation of all workover and maintenance operations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in oil and gas workover operations, well servicing, or related fields.
- Must hold an active well control certificate.
- Strong knowledge of well servicing techniques, workover rig operations, and artificial lift systems.
- Ability to read and interpret well schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage field operations efficiently.
- Strong understanding of oilfield safety regulations and best practices.
- Proficiency in Wellview, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); OpenInvoice experience preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in fast-paced environments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must pass a drug test and criminal background check.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and meet company vehicle eligibility requirements.
