Social Media Specialist to

build Change.org’s social presence.

You will report to our
Comms Manager, Australia. As a key member of our Marketing & Communications team, you’ll

create and maintain active social channels, create high performance social media content, and act as a steward for the Change.org Australia brand.

Key Outcomes: 


  •  Create and maintain active TikTok and Instagram channels with an established tone of voice and the potential for virality 
  • Create high performance video and static social media posts about the Change.org brand and petitions on our site, sourcing content from petition starters, UGC and online
  • Be on top of compelling issues, news stories, and trends to identify the right moment to elevate campaigns through social. Use these moments drive brand awareness and campaign impact. 
  •  Deliver/edit templates to reflect the Australian brand
  •  Increase activity on Facebook and Bluesky channels
  •  Upskill the team on core social skills

The most important core competencies for the role are: 


  •  Skilled in creating engaging, timely social content, ideally in the social impact space
  •  Ability to act as a steward for the brand 
  •  Skilled in turning quality content around based on a brief, while bringing their own creative flair
  •  Experience in contributing to the development of a social media strategy, with knowledge regarding best practice in this area
  • Willingness to work across difference, including providing support to policy-compliant campaigns that you may not agree with but align with Change.org’s commitment to being an open platform.
  • A good understanding of Australia’s news and social media landscape, particularly including coverage and trends around social justice, economic, political and environmental issues.
