As a Data Engineer at Presto
The Data Team is responsible for efficiently managing raw data from multiple vendors across cryptocurrency and stock markets. Our mission is to ensure accurate, reliable, and timely data processing to support quantitative research and trading strategies.You will develop, optimize, and maintain systems for capturing, processing, and distributing real-time and historical market data. We collaborate with traders, quantitative researchers, and infrastructure engineers to ensure fast, reliable data access for trading systems while improving data availability and integrity to enhance trading performance.
Additionally, we work closely with stock and cryptocurrency market data vendors to ensure seamless integration and swiftly address any potential issues.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain high-throughput, low-latency data processing pipelines for real-time and historical market data.
- Optimize existing data ingestion and processing systems for performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Implement and maintain integrations with market data vendors and exchanges, ensuring seamless connectivity with internal trading systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data collection, processing, and distribution.
- Work closely with traders and researchers to understand data needs and deliver optimal solutions.
- Automate monitoring, deployment, and management of data processing pipelines.
- Evaluate and implement new technologies to improve data processing efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in Python and data processing frameworks (e.g., Pandas, NumPy).
- Experience with market data processing is required.
- Proficiency in Linux environments and ability to work with shell scripting and command-line tools.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Preferred
- Understanding of quantitative trading strategies.
- Understanding of financial markets, particularly cryptocurrency and stock markets.
- Knowledge of distributed computing and large-scale data processing.
- Experience with Airflow, Jenkins, or other Data Orchestration tools.
