As a Technical Program Manager (TPM) at Flipster


At Flipster, the Technical Program Manager (TPM) plays a key role in optimizing development and operational processes, driving data-driven decision-making to maximize engineering productivity and system stability. This role focuses on enhancing collaboration across platform teams (Backend, Web, Android, iOS, QA and Data Engineering) and functional squads, ensuring smooth coordination and improving internal processes to create a more efficient development and shipping environment. Additionally, the TPM will establish robust incident management processes and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.

Responsibilities


  • Optimize development and operational workflows to improve team efficiency and productivity.
  • Define and analyze key metrics such as Feature Lead Time and Resource Utilization to drive continuous improvement.
  • Facilitate cross-team collaboration between squads and platform chapters to streamline communication and project execution.
  • Manage incident response processes, coordinate cross-functional teams during outages, facilitate postmortem analyses to identify root causes, and drive continuous improvements to prevent recurrence.
  • Support and improve deployment and maintenance processes, ensuring smooth execution and risk mitigation.

Qualifications


  • 5+ years of experience in program management and operational process optimization in software engineering. 
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively align stakeholders, influence cross-functional teams, and clearly convey complex information.
  • Proven track record in optimizing development and deployment workflows.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and software development lifecycle (SDLC) best practices.
  • Experience with data-driven decision-making and operational metrics analysis (SQL proficiency is a plus).
  • Cross-functional collaboration experience, successfully managing dependencies across multiple teams.
  • Proven experience in incident management and driving continuous improvements across cross-functional teams.
  • Fluency in speaking and writing English required.

Preferred


  • Background in large-scale software operations and deployments.
  • Proficiency in project and operations management tools such as Jira, Tableau, Looker, or Grafana.
  • Experience working closely with platform teams to drive company-wide process optimizations.
  • Strong ability to implement and scale development and operational process improvements within an organization.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD, and automation.
