The Assistant Store Manager will monitor the quality of donated goods and ensure effective inventory management. The Assistant Store Manager will also ensure compliance with safety regulations while maintaining a well-organized operation. Additional duties encompass supporting customer relations, managing equipment, and providing strategic insights for process enhancements. Essential FunctionsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.The Assistant Store Manager acts as the manager on duty in the store manager's absence.Inventory and Sales Management•Oversees the processing of donated goods for the retail store. Quality Control and Process Improvement•Monitors and supervises the sales floor and evaluates store operations to streamline processes, including quality of donations and sorting items for resale, recycling, or disposal.•Identify and implement improvements for store efficiency and layout.Safety and Compliance•Ensures safety guidelines and regulations adherence by maintaining a clean and organized workplace.Documentation and Reporting:•Maintains accurate records and reports such as employee attendance, daily financial reports, injury or accident reports, sell-through reports, etc. Staff Development•Provides leadership and training to staff and volunteers, ensuring departmental goals are met by fostering professional growth.•Encourages and rewards employees by providing positive feedback and real-time coaching. •Conducts training, assigns daily tasks, monitors performance, conducts appraisals, and recommends disciplinary measures.•Guides team members in production/donation procedures and ensures compliance with processing standards. •Ensures a high-performing, accountable workforce. Customer Service•Provide excellent customer service to donors, customers, vendors, and fellow FJV employees, ensuring a positive experience. •Runs point of sale system, performs sales work, rounds up sales and purchases, customer capture, and loyalty rewards sign-ups. Qualifications•Associate’s degree in Business or equivalent experience.•At least 3 years of supervisory/management experience in retail, fast food, or hospitality management •At least 2 years of leadership experience, including recruitment, training, performance management, coaching, and retaining an engaged and accountable workforce.•At least one year of cash handling, register, or point of sales experience.•Able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.•Must be able to serve a diverse community of donors, customers, employees, and stakeholders while maintaining the highest ethical standards.•Intermediate user of MS Office.•Excellent written and verbal communication skills.•Participate in an annual Tuberculosis and/or other screenings when necessary.
