Headquartered in Houston, Texas, with teams situated strategically throughout the United States, Urban Grid has a long history of contributing to the clean energy economy. In addition to 940 megawatts currently under construction, we are actively developing a growing portfolio of more than 12,000 megawatts of solar PV and 7,000 megawatts of co-located and stand-alone energy storage. To learn more, please visit www.UrbanGridSolar.com. Urban Grid is a portfolio company of Brookfield. one of the world’s largest owners and operators of renewable power and climate transition assets.Urban Grid is looking for an experienced and motivated Project Delivery Intern to join our team.As a Project Delivery Intern, you will learn from the Project Delivery team to understand the successful delivery of our projects from late-stage development through Engineering-Procurement-Construction (EPC) contracting and construction, to completion and hand-off to Asset Operations Management.

The Project Delivery Intern will experience working with cross-functional and multi-project team resources to ensure solutions are delivered on time and on budget according to defined scope, timeline, and cost parameters. They will have the opportunity to assist in the development of plans, schedules, and control project activities toward these objectives, while learning the technical, theoretical, and managerial skills required to satisfy project requirements.

This is a paid internship that will start on or around June 2, 2025, with an end date of August 8, 2025.


During the 10-week program, interns will participate in virtual, company-wide and department meetings, virtual monthly Friday lunch & learn trainings and a culminating group presentation on your overall internship experience. The program is structured to provide exposure to careers in renewable energy, best practices in internal communications as part of a remote/ hybrid team and best of all, the opportunity to work and support a team of professionals who are experts in their field.

Responsibilities


  • · Gain exposure and understanding of the project delivery discipline and how it operates
  • Collaborate with Project Managers in overseeing and managing all aspects of the project delivery process, ensuring adherence to project plans, budgets, and schedules
  • Assist in development, maintenance, and effective execution of project plans throughout the life of assigned project(s)
  • Contribute to continual process and management innovation, supporting effective delivery of solutions
  • Assist in establishing clear project parameters supporting success of the projects
  • Provide and promote high standards of professionalism and leadership throughout the life of projects, both within and outside the organization
  • Assist in creating and maintaining a project schedule and budget, which defines activities, sequence, dependencies, work effort, duration and associated resource requirements

Location


Position will be located in our Headquarters Houston, TX office with a Hybrid 3 days a week/ 2 days remote. Position will require a trip to one of the project sites.Candidate to work full-time hours Monday - Friday during the summer duration of the internship.

Requirements


  • In pursuit of a Bachelor of Science degree in Business, Engineering or related field
  • Strong computer skills, especially with Microsoft Office
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, flexible environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Aptitude and desire to learn business and financial principles, including budget, schedule, and resource management
  • Must have strong organizational capacity to simultaneously manage multiple projects with competing deadlines and be able to quickly adapt to changes and shift priorities to meet project needs and deadlines

Interns will receive 24 hours of PTO, 2 paid holidays and a $60 monthly cell phone reimbursement during their internship.
