The Opportunity


The PRMA department has an opportunity for a motivated and focused graduate student with an interest in pursuing a career in market access (including but not exclusive of health policy, health economics, and/or pharmaceutical marketing). The intern will gain practical, professional work experience in several areas of market access including understanding the pharmaceutical industry, gene therapy products, key stakeholders (payers, patients, providers), health policy, and health economics and outcomes.An example project would include supporting global launch efforts for 2 rare disease products and helping to develop market access materials for use by payers, providers, patients, and/or caregivers.

For the ophthalmology portfolio, tracking reimbursement, and Medicare/Commercial coverage policies for wAMD competitor products (i.e., biologics, biosimilars), including guidance for inclusion of gene therapy products.

What You'll Be Doing


  • Assist with global market access research and materials development
  • Understand analog products impact on developing product strategies
  • Help coordinate project elements, e.g., notetaking, build summaries, communicate with consultants, manage calendars, and gain exposure to health economics research, payers and other key stakeholders, advisory boards, and launch planning
  • Develop graphical PowerPoint presentations to communicate research findings and Smartsheet’s to create dashboards
  • Proactive mindset with strong analytical, attention-to-detail, and interpersonal skills
  • Participate in meetings to gain insight into all aspects of product development and launch activities

What We're Looking For


  • Must be currently enrolled or recently completed a graduate level program (i.e., PharmD, MBA, MPH, MD, PhD, MS, etc.) with a concentration in any of the following areas: health policy, health economics, marketing, or other related market access discipline
  • Prior market access and/or health economics internship experience preferred, but not required
  • Be available to work full-time for 10 weeks (from late May to early August)
  • Proficient in MS Office, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Good organizational skills with the ability to work on several assignments simultaneously
  • Demonstrate ability to think creatively to solve complex problems

$20 - $30 an hour
