Full-timeDescriptionAs an Accessory Mechanic, you will be integral to maintaining and repairing various mechanical components, ensuring optimal performance and safety. Your role requires strong mechanical knowledge and proficiency with tools such as calipers, micrometers, and bore gauges. You will perform maintenance, overhaul and repair operations on APU accessories using appropriate tooling as required. Requires working in various disciplines within the repair and overhaul shop.
- With appropriate supervision tear down, inspect, clean, analyze, rebuild, and test APU accessories and other similar equipment
- Clean/media blast parts and assemblies as required
- Prepare documentation, create routings, record findings and test data
- Operate test equipment as required by the OEM maintenance manuals and other work instructions
- Light painting and touch up of assemblies as required
- Use calibrated tooling as required (micrometers, depth mics, calipers, etc.)
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings
- Work closely with engineering to rectify issues that may arise with practices or tooling. as well as process improvement and R&D.
- Read, interpret, and execute work instructions.
- Follow all company policies including safety instructions and PPE.
- Other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Maintain a neat and orderly workstation and promote overall good housekeeping practices
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. - Minimum 2 years of mechanical experience involving similar equipment, processes, measuring tools and assembly operations.
- Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills.
- Relevant experience in mechanical assembly or repair.
- Be able to read, use, and interpret various calibrated tools. Micrometers, depth mics, bore mics, “C” mics, calipers, torque wrenches, etc.
- Must be able to read, navigate, and interpret OEM manuals, and tech data.
- Must be able to read and interpret mechanical drawings
- Have a general knowledge of Microsoft Excel, and word spreadsheets.
- Must possess the necessary hand tools to perform position responsibilities
