Position Overview:
We are seeking a hands-on Material Resource Planning (MRP) Manager to lead and optimize our small but mighty MRP and purchasing operations team. This role requires a strategic leader with expertise in production scheduling, vendor negotiations, and streamlining processes to improve efficiency. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure material availability and help align departmental goals with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and Develop Team: Manage and mentor the MRP and purchasing team to maintain a positive, high-performance culture.
- Oversee Purchasing Process: Ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and resources to meet production needs.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement continuous improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
- Vendor Management: Negotiate contracts and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to secure favorable terms and delivery schedules.
- Production Scheduling: Work with operations to align material availability with production schedules and minimize downtime.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Align goals with other departments (e.g., Sales and Operations) to ensure smooth material flow and operational success.
- Performance Monitoring: Analyze KPIs to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Change Management: Manage and communicate adjustments to processes and resources to meet evolving priorities.
- Communication: Ensure consistent, clear communication across teams to maintain alignment and collaboration.
- SIOP Coordination: Facilitate Senior Leadership SIOP sessions to ensure cross-functional alignment on production forecasts, resource needs, and business objectives, while proactively identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience in MRP, materials management, or purchasing.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing teams.
- Ability to drive process improvements and manage change effectively.
- Strong analytical skills with experience using KPIs to drive corrective actions.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, related field, or relevant experience
- Experience with ERP systems; specifically, Microsoft Business Central.
- Six Sigma or Lean certification is a plus.
Physical requirements:
