We are major dealers in luxury vintage watches too. We are based in Burnsville, Minnesota and Richmond, Virginia with over 20 years of success in direct marketing and designing luxury jewelry and fine watches from around the world. We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to add additional strength to our accounting and finance team to facilitate efficient and accurate accounting procedures and controls.
Accuracy and the ability to meet deadlines are essential to assist management with financial reporting and analysis. Customer service is also important to support a strong business relationship with all points of contact, both internal and external.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare and complete monthly journal entries on key account areas including but not limited to fixed assets, accounts receivable, customer liabilities, and P&L reclassifications.
- Prepare weekly A/R aging reports for distribution to internal customers
- Calculate and prepare bi-weekly sales commissions / variable pay
- Complete daily banking updates and cash applications/deposits
- Complete monthly account reconciliations.
- Report on key financial statistics on a weekly basis.
- Prepare and submit monthly state sales tax data
- Account for and facilitate resolution of customer returned checks and ACH’s.
- Assist Customer Service and Sales on customer account status inquiries and other customer related requests
- Prepare support and documentation for external auditors.
- Trained back-up on key accounting tasks for coverage purposes.
- Additional recurring tasks to be assigned as needed.
- Special projects as needed.
SKILLS:
- 4-year degree in accounting or related field.
- 2-3 years of experience in general accounting.
- Intellectually curious with an attention to detail and ability to take ownership for areas of responsibility.
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft applications – primarily Microsoft Excel
- Experience with Ecometry and Multi-View a plus.
- Natural ability and desire to constantly assess and analyze how we can do things more efficiently with better results.
- Ability to manage multiple projects/responsibilities simultaneously.
- Strong organization and analytical skills.
- Team player who is willing to help out and contribute in whatever areas are needed.
