Front End Innovation (FEI) within CTO is responsible for FE technology development in internal fabs as well as for the selection, specification, validation, and certification of Foundry technologies. Specifically, in the High Voltage team, focus is on technologies developed for HV and power applications.
NXP’s strategy is to use more and more existing foundry technologies, also in the HV-area.The HV team aim is to make the optimal selection of devices and processes to enable a wide range of products. For each subsequent product, preferably a sub-set of the existing device- process- portfolio is used to build the required functionality. The Design/Device engineer will be working closely with IC-designers, Device engineers and factories (internal/external) to make these choices. You will be working on the interface between design and device.
Your Responsibilities
- Translating circuit requirements into device- and/or process- requirements via close interaction with the IC-designers
- Proposing device and process usage and alternatives
- Being able to come with alternatives circuit-topologies
- Quantifying and visualizing the trade-off for the different alternatives
- Benchmarking the different devices and process-technologies internal and in foundries to drive the above actions. Quantify the suitability for NXP’s product portfolio and roadmap.
- Building technology roadmaps.
- Ensuring factories understand NXP BCD technology- and device- requirements
- Preparing technical engagements with factories to drive them developing new technology or deliver the right information back to NXP designers.
- Working as a consultant for IC design engineers, enabling them to make optimal use of the technology and the devices in their IC designs
Your Profile
- MSC or PhD in electrical engineering or physics
- Experience in analog/HV IC-design, design flows.
- Experience and good understanding of device design, modelling, TCAD and manufacturing. Minimum 15 years experience in one of these fields and preferably adjacent fields.
- Affinity with IC technology
- Proven track record at Technical Director level or ability to grow in this role.
- Able to aggregate technical messages to management level
- Able to interact with end-customers on new technologies and issues.
- Good communication and presentation skills, convincing and constructive personality
- Teamplayer
- Proactive working attitude
For this job opening we have a preference for fulltime employment. However, we are open for an 80% contract as well. Furthermore, we have an option for working at least 1 day a week at home.
