This role will be responsible for external audit management, internal audit process, quality tool research, development and deployment, audit support of our manufacturing facilities around the globe, and sustainability initiative support. This position will report to the Director, Global Quality (AQP, Quality Systems & Auditing), and is based at our World Headquarters & Technology Center in Farmington Hills, Michigan (other Neapco locations will be considered). Job Description: Corporate Quality Engineer
Key Responsibilities,
Including, but not limited to:
- Partner with Neapco’s global divisions to identify, develop, improve, and maintain an efficient and effective quality management system (QMS)
- Implement global QMS standards, processes, and initiatives including supporting our manufacturing sites by auditing, performing root cause analysis and/or implementing corrective actions.
- Support process owners and all Neapco sites to comply with ISO9001, IATF 16949, VDA, and Customer Specific Requirements (CSR’s)
- Perform gap assessments activities on applicable procedures/processes to ensure compliance with system requirements.
- Internal Auditor of Global QMS. Mentors and train internal auditors and assist in managing the program.
- Promotes risk-based thinking, may function as FMEA facilitator, critical review and analysis of product and process risks, and recommends when to take actions for risk reduction
- Monitoring and support of linkages among drawings, special characteristics, technical specifications, DFMEA, PFMEA, control plan, and other related documents as applicable
- Developing corrective actions, solutions, and improvements.
- Participate in team problem solving activities.
- May support global launch teams, as assigned by management, with APQP documentation, linkages, and adherence to customer specific requirements.
- Work on other projects and assignments as directed by Management, including Sustainability initiative efforts.
Required Skills
- Minimum 5 years of Quality Engineering Experience, developing Management Systems at a Tier 1 OEM in the automotive, safety critical, aerospace, or medical industries.
- Thorough understanding of the automotive core tools: APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, and SPC
- Audit experience/certifications in ISO, IATF, VDA, CQI, automotive core tools, and the process approach.
- Excellent problem-solving skills; strong practical applied understanding of statistics including process capability and gage/measurement system validation
- Must be a well-rounded Quality Professional with mastery on all quality tools (The Basic 7 and the 7-New Quality tools). A solid quality toolbox is a must.
- Demonstrated ability to work well in a fast-paced environment, unsupervised, and within time constraints
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional, multicultural, global teams, and to influence positive outcomes and relationships in a matrix environment.

Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Quality or Engineering or equivalent.
- ASQ Certifications preferred.
- IATF16949:2016 Lead Auditor certification preferred.
