Position Summary
The SCADA Lead position is responsible for expertise in the CygNet® SCADA PLATFORM and a well-developed understanding of the Oil and Gas industry. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in SCADA system operations, a strong background in data management principles, and proficiency in programming languages such as VB, PowerShell, Python, and SQL. This position requires optimizing SCADA processes, data analytics, and developing solutions that drive excellence in the energy sector. The role will report to the Automation Engineer and is based out of our Cresson, TX field office with travel to surrounding field locations possible at least 20% of the time.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain and optimize operations of the CygNet® SCADA PLATFORM.
- Diagnose and rectify any system issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimized performance.
- Implement upgrades and patches as necessary, coordinating with vendor support when required.
- Design and implement SCADA visualization interfaces tailored to stakeholder requirements.
- Develop and enforce data management best practices tailored to the oil and gas sector.
- Create and manage data pipelines for real-time and batch data processing.
- Implement advanced data analytics solutions to extract actionable insights from SCADA data.
- Drive operational efficiency and ensure data integrity and uphold security protocols in compliance with industry standards.
- Develop custom scripts and tools using VB, PowerShell, Python, and SQL to automate routine tasks.
- Improve system performance and facilitate data analysis.
- Collaborate with other teams to integrate SCADA data with other enterprise systems within the energy industry.
- Provide training and support for custom tools to end-users.
Qualifications
- In-depth knowledge of the Oil and Gas industry and its operations.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with the Cygnet SCADA ecosystem required with ability to pass a skills test for proficiency.
- Must be able to successfully pass a drug test and criminal history background check.
- Ability to build out in both flat and referenced facility architecture.
Core Competencies – Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Understanding and ability to program VBScript against the Cygnet API.
- Experience with SAP & OpenInvoice experience preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of various Cygnet modules (GRP, FMS, GNS).
- Ability to use Cygnet utilities (facload, cexport, grpmgr, vhsthinner, etc).
- Basic proficiency in PowerShell, Python, and SQL.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Strong professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Work well in team environment, take direction and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
- Solid understanding of data management principles and practices, especially as they pertain to the energy sector.
