NOVA Engineering is currently seeking a
Soils Laboratory Assistant for our Construction Materials Testing department in Kennesaw, Georgia.The ideal candidate will have experience in soils laboratory testing, but we also welcome entry-level candidates with a Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Geology, Soil Science, or Engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct soil sample collection, preparation, and testing in accordance with industry standards and project specifications.
- Perform laboratory tests on soil samples, including but not limited to moisture content, grain size analysis, Atterberg limits, and compaction tests.
- Record and analyze test data, ensuring accuracy and compliance with quality control procedures.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure a clean and organized work environment.
- Assist with the preparation of test reports and documentation.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field technicians to support project needs.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Geology, Soil Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Previous experience in a soils laboratory is preferred but not required.
- ICC Soils certification is preferred but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
