Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant will report to the Senior Director of Finance and will be responsible for general accounting, monthly balance sheet reconciliations, general ledger account analysis, and financial reporting. This role will heavily support general ledger activities position and will also be responsible for the monthly sales and use tax reporting for all entities. This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.  This role will be a hybrid position, with 2 days in person and 3 days remote.

Responsibilities:


  • Complete daily accounting responsibilities, such as:
  • Revenue and COGS recognition process
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Record daily credit card sales
  • Record other cash activity
  • Journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Maintaining detailed Excel schedules such as prepaids and fixed assets
  • Assist in the approval and general ledger classification of non-po invoices

  • Assist in completion of month-end close
  • Record monthly corporate credit card transactions
  • Assist in tracking vendor reimbursements
  • Prepare key performance indicator reports including commentary
  • Provide accurate monthly financial reports and department budget to actual reports to management

  • Assist with audit requests
  • Assist with the preparation of the annual budget
  • Manage the actual to budget reporting
  • Work with Finance team to complete monthly state sales tax filings and remit payment on a timely basis
  • Assist in preparation & filing sales and use tax returns for the various states, manually, online and via utilization of One Source accounting software
  • Manage and review nexus compliance (sales, use, franchise and payroll) monthly for all subsidiaries and execute registrations as deemed necessary
  • Assist with any Sales & Use Tax audits and notices as needed
  • Ad hoc special projects

Qualifications, Skill and Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Related Field, and 5 years or more Relevant Experience
  • Exposure to U.S. G.A.A.P. preferred
  • Proficient in managing and maintaining the general ledger, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close processes.Microsoft Office proficiency; intermediate Excel skills is a must
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365, or similar ERP system, preferred
  • Sales tax experience preferred
  • Proactive and analytical, with the ability to work with a sense of urgency with minimal supervision
  • Highly detailed oriented and organized, with the ability to multi-task several projects on short deadlines
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced, dynamic, and open environment
  • Strong work ethic
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Successful completion of background check and employment verification.

Work Location-


  • This role will be a hybrid role position at our Northbrook, IL headquarters, with 2 days in person and 3 days remote.

Compensation-


  • This is a salaried position with an anticipated annual base salary range of $70-80k.
  • The annual base range for this role considers the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
