Description
Sigma Defense is seeking a qualified Tactical Relay Field Service Engineer to join our team in support of testing, integration, training, and maintenance support for our Airborne Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (AISR) Data Transport – Block II Tactical Relay program. The qualified candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, operating, and training within the Block II Tactical Relay family of systems. Core competencies for this position shall include extensive knowledge in Satellite Modems, Redundancy Switches, associated cables, and interconnects; Up Converters, Down Converters, High Power Amplifiers (HPAs), Low Noise Amplifiers (LNAs), Low Noise Block (LNB); Waveguide (rigid, flex, and elliptical) joints and connections; Intermediate Frequency (IF) cable and connections; Antenna, Antenna motors, Solid State Power Amplifiers (SSPA), Antenna Control Unit (ACU), and associated cabling and interconnects, Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Units (if applicable), and Generator (if applicable).
This is a full-time deployed position that requires up to 100% travel.

Requirements
- 4+ years of pertinent Satellite system operations experience required.
- Working understanding and ability to speak intelligently regarding US Military satellite communications systems, procedures, and practices to include the provisioning of space segment, and gateway operations.
- Demonstrated proficiency with RF signal flow and fault isolation.
- Experience with Satellite access techniques such as Frequency Division Multiple Access (FDMA) and Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA).
- Working knowledge of IT systems administration.
- Demonstrated proficiency in routing and switching. (Cisco CCNA certification preferred).
Personnel Clearance Level:
- Candidate must possess or have the ability to obtain an active Top Secret security clearance.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering or related field of study.
Mandatory Certifications:
- DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 or higher (Sec+ CE or equivalent).
Software/Programs Experience:
- Experience with developing customer facing products within Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) required.
Essential Job Responsibilities (not all-inclusive):
- This position is full-time deployed in an austere environment.
- Maintain proactive analysis and preventative maintenance of customer VSAT, Voice, Video, and network systems worldwide to include hardware configurations; adding, removing, and replacing hardware components; use of hardware and software diagnostic tools; cable infrastructure installation and maintenance; and software upgrades and maintenance.
- Deploy, monitor, and maintain customer systems globally as needed.
- Assist in maintaining inventory of customer assigned equipment worldwide.
- Conduct fault detection, isolation, and correction of hardware systems and individual components.
- Communicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and the customer as required.
- Provide technical knowledge and assistance to other engineers and support personnel.
- Actively seek program/system deficiencies to provide input on methods for the improvement of internal processes.
- Prepare required technical documentation support for, but not limited to technical management plans, status reports, troubleshooting aids, etc.
- Follow established workflows for software, document, and process updates.
- Ability to work effectively with Employees and Management of all levels, to include multi-national staff, superiors, and ranking Military Officers and Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs).
Salary Range: $160,000 - $210,000 annually.
