VectorUSA is looking for a Lead Access Control Technician with 3-5 years’ experience with installing and programming access control systems.  The position will be responsible for installing and servicing enterprise level access control systems, integrated locksets, intercoms, visitor management systems, and video management systems. VectorUSA is a premiere technology company, designing, building and maintaining voice, data and video networks throughout the country. Responsibilities (including but not limited to):


  • Perform electronic security system installations (Electrified Locking Hardware, Card Readers, Cameras, Access control, Intercom etc.)
  • Program Access Control hardware and software.
  • Implementing system upgrades and updates.
  • Perform network configuration checks.
  • Serve as ‘Lead Access Control Technician’.
  • Assist Sales Engineer w/ site surveys as assigned.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and Visio a plus.              
  • Review Preventative Maintenance Check documentation as required.
  • Receive and interpret project documents (drawings, site surveys, permits, materials sold, etc.).
  • Adhere to OSHA Standards.

Minimum Requirements:


  • Five (5) or more years of experience in low voltage installation directly related to security installations.
  • 3-5 years’ experience with installing and programming access control systems including but not limited to: Identiv/Hirsch, HID hardware and AMAG
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to use metering devices
  • Proven experienced in low voltage wiring and code requirements.
  • Have working knowledge and understanding of basic electronics
  • Possess the ability to use diagnostic equipment/software and established troubleshooting techniques to isolate network deficiencies, equipment failures and operational anomalies
  • Understands and follows safety guidelines

Preferred Requirements:


  • Strong attention to detail, good documentation skills, ability to write clear, concise project reports
  • Ability to function with minimal instruction or supervision, or as a part of larger team reporting to formal project management.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Proven troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to quickly learn new systems
  • Experience with Microsoft operating systems and Office applications
  • Strong customer service demeanor
