The Job
The Lead Decision Engineer II will be a critical member of the Data & Advanced Analytics Team. This individual will be responsible for the design, implementation, and support of the Best Egg Personal Loan Decision Engine Systems. The candidate will have a specific focus on translating business requirements into Python using our Decision Engine Platform. This will include management of key projects; working with cross-functional teams across both the internal business and external partners to deliver best-in-class products, services, and features to our customers; and the ability to work on multiple initiatives efficiently.
Problem-solving ability and attention to detail are keys for taking business requirements from ideation to reality and foundational for being able to research and support any reported bugs or issues that may affect the decision.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintain the Personal Loan Decision Engine Systems and translate new business requirements into Python-based Decision Engine logic
- Perform unit and system testing, creating test scripts and plans for traceability
- Troubleshoot bugs and issues that occur both pre and post-delivery for solutions
- Collaborate with Decision Execution team and Credit Strategy to clearly translate the business requirements into technical specifications
- Collaborate with the Data Science team to implement AI/ML models into decisioning
- Automate existing and future processes using Python and SQL
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Operational Research, Engineering,
- Computer Science or other quantitative Major required
- 3+ years’ experience in a similar technical role
- Previous experience in the finance industry is preferred
- Must be proficient in an Object Oriented Programming Language, Python heavily preferred
- Experience with Git, Jira, SQL, and MS Excel preferred
- Experience with Decision Engines and testing tools (e.g. SOAP UI) preferred
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills

$90,000 - $140,000 a yearThis position is also eligible for an annual incentive bonus based on individual and company performance. Yearly incentive bonus target 20% of base salary. Apply for this job
