Job Summary:


The Director of Sales Club/Mass, will lead a team charged with growing Impossible’s distribution and revenue across Walmart, Club & Value Channels in North America. This leader will oversee the growth and expansion of Impossible’s footprint in these vital customers for the organization. This individual needs to manage expertly across depth and breadth of these customers, from managing current multi department relationships, ensuring customer and channel cohesion with the rest of Impossible’s business, and identifying and executing against substantial opportunities at current and white space customers.

The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of CPG sales, strong communication and leadership skills and a proven track record of delivering distribution and revenue growth across a diverse retail customer base.

Essential Job Functions:


  • Lead, develop and motivate team of account managers and specialists, fostering a positive, collaborative growth mindset culture
  • Consistently deliver monthly, quarterly and annual volume and net revenue targets for the channel's customers.
  • Build and develop strong relationships with existing and new retail customers, negotiating agreements that facilitate sustained Impossible growth
  • Leverage customer, industry and category data to identify opportunities and develop customized sales strategies
  • Develop KPIs for team members, creating clarity of success measures and tracking
  • Identify new distribution channels, expanding product offerings into new markets
  • Communicate clearly, frequently and broadly with all cross-functional stakeholder and the management team, including senior executives
  • Operate with a sense of urgency and accountability
  • Be a strong cross-functional partner to marketing, communications, finance, accounting, corporate strategy, R&D and supply chain.
  • Challenge the status quo of “how things work” in the food industry to knock down barriers to grow the business faster than any food brand ever has

Basic Qualifications:


  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) from a four-year college or university
  • 12 - 15 years CPG with experience in retail sales
  • Experience in sales support functions (trade marketing, sales planning, category management) preferred
  • Experienced in Mass and Club channels
  • Proven success of building and leading sales teams, developing and motivating talent
  • Strong negotiation, communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to leverage data to develop insights-driven solutions
  • Flexibility and adaptability to thrive in a dynamic and fast paced retail and company environment
  • Ability to build strong relationships with customers, third party vendors and cross functional partners

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Preference for experience in selling or working with mid-cycle CPG brands in the perishable temperature space
  • Genuine interest and passion for Impossible Food’s mission
  • Demonstrated ability of scaling a national brand across different retail channels and customer types
  • Proven success navigating in an ever changing and often chaotic (and exciting) high growth environment
  • Understand hierarchy of customer decision making and how to influence at each level
  • Experience managing regional and/or specialty brokers
  • Well organized, resourceful, positive attitude and driven to excel
  • Ability to prioritize, delegate and communicate efficiently and effectively
  • Knowledge of trade management systems
  • Strong analytical skills and can think strategically
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time

$165,000 - $225,000 a yearThis U.S. based, full-time position offers the above base salary range + equity + benefits + bonus for sales incentive plan roles.
