LABORER - WARREN, AR

PotlatchDeltic Land & Lumber, LLC is seeking candidates to fill the Laborer position for the Warren Lumber Mill.  This position is responsible for managing the daily clean-up process of the areas across the sawmill facility.  This includes general clean up, sweeping, shoveling chips, assisting with operations in the mill as needed and the operation of equipment on the plant site.  Successful candidates will cross train on equipment throughout the plant site and operate equipment in and around the plant site, as directed.The hourly rate of pay for this position is $18.59.Essential Job Functions:


  • Remove and/or replace boards under/in the Sorter.
  • Remove trim blocks from trim block conveyor and chippers.
  • Remove vines and debris on the Bark Belt.
  • Sweep with broom, scoop/shovel, and compressed air.
  • Pickup slabs and chunks and discard per JSEA.
  • Operate Bobcat/Front End Loader, ATV, Chainsaw and Crane.
  • Work at Heights.

Marginal Job Functions:


  • Listen for alarms and alerts.
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections on department equipment within priorities and on time.
  • Responsible for safety compliance personally and with equipment

Working Conditions:


  • Must be able to work in hot, dusty, cold, wet, dirty, and confined working environments on occasion.
  • Ability to climb or descend stairs, ladders, and rough ground, and work at heights.

Essential Physical Functions:


  • Walking to traverse mill site.
  • Climbing to access key areas of the sawmill, mezzanine, break rooms and bathrooms; utilizing steps, ladder rungs, or foot holds to access areas for routine cleaning.
  • Kneeling to blow down key areas or to remove debris from under machinery.
  • Lifting to remove boards from ground.
  • Pushing and pulling boards.
  • Overhead reaching to secure harnesses for working at heights and reach knives at varying levels.
  • Carrying debris, boards, and tools.
  • Gripping to manipulate boards, pick up debris and handling materials and equipment.

Requirements:


  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to work any shift (Days, Nights, Graveyard or Weekends).
  • Prior lumber mill experiences preferred.
  • Prior forklift/machine operations training preferred.
  • Able to work well in a team environment.
  • Self-motivated, hard worker.
  • Must be a safety-oriented individual.
  • NCRC Certification preferred.
