Neighborhood Service Organization’s (NSO) compassionate and professional staff provides services that have impacted countless children, youth, adults, seniors, families, and communities since 1955.  We deliver holistic care and wrap around/safety net services to address social determinants impacting health, education, and economic stability. 


Overview of Duties and Responsibilities:


We are seeking an experienced administrative project manager who will provide support to NSO’s President and CEO and its Chief Community Impact Officer with various strategic fundraising and community engagement initiatives, manage volunteer activities, and process and maintain records for various donations and in-kind contributions.

  • Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures and applicable rules and regulations of grantors.
  • Models the Pillars and guiding principles of NSO at all times.

Driving/Travel Requirements


☐   Will drive NSO Vehicle☐   Must have access to reliable private transportation☒   Must maintain valid MI driver’s license/State ID☐   Must maintain automotive insurance ☐   Must be able to visit locations while working for NSO☐   Will be expected to travel on NSO time

Annual Training


☐   CPR and First Aid training are required for this position

☐   Non-Violent Intervention training is required for this position☒  

Additional Trainings will be required


Education, Licensure and Experience Requirements


Education: High school diploma or GED

  • Required Licensure: N/A

Minimum Required Experience: 

  • 5-7 years of experience as an executive assistant, office manager or other similar role, including experience working with nonprofit boards, donors and partners
  • Demonstrated experience supporting multiple executives and successfully managing a diverse portfolio of complex projects
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite, donor acknowledgement software and other related technology
  • Proven ability to work in a collaborative team environment, effectively engage with a broad range of individuals from varied backgrounds and experiences, and to maintain the appropriate professionalism, confidentiality and discretion

Essential Job Duties


  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Support NSO’s President and CEO and its Chief Community Impact Officer with various strategic fundraising and community engagement initiatives
  • Support special projects and ad hoc requests from Community Impact teammates
  • Complete gift processing and maintain accurate donor records
  • Ensure up-to-date donor contact information
  • Handle event logistics
  • Create thank you letters and other correspondence and materials
  • Support social media and newsletter strategy and execution
  • Organize on-site volunteer opportunities and oversee volunteer activities
  • Assist giving-in-kind coordination
