Atom Computing is seeking a Senior Accountant who will ensure the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and reconciling transactions and accounts. This position reports directly to the VP of Finance and is part of a team that creates and implements policies and procedures to drive financial reporting accuracy and efficiency. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for key financial processes including monthly close and financial statement development, accounts payable and fixed asset creation/depreciation.
This role is part of a creative, collaborative team committed to providing outstanding support to our growing startup company.Candidates will be considered for fully remote or a hybrid model if located near one of our Atom Computing locations.
Job Requirements:
- Lead the month-end and year-end close cycles, ensuring accurate reconciliations and financial statement development
- Drive the overall accounts payable cycle including invoice matching, transaction booking and vendor record management
- Prepare and record fixed assets and process depreciation and disposal entries
- Prepare and record other key asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing key company financial data
- Reconcile accounts by verifying, posting, and reconciling transactions, with timely resolution of discrepancies
- Analyze spending and balance trends; recommend corrective processes and optimization actions
- Support select business compliance and adjacent tax reporting activities (business licensing, Sales/Use tax, annual 1099 reporting)
- Provide key support into the annual external audit process
Experience & Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, CPA strongly preferred
- Minimum of 5 years’ relevant accounting experience
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite, Google products, and NetSuite.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills with demonstrated capability in data analytics

- Solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and practices, as well as demonstrated experience with accrual basis accounting
