Main Purpose:


The Scaffolding Manager supervises, coordinates, plans, and executes scaffolding projects and operations, which includes but is not limited to labor and equipment associated with the scaffolding department.

Essential Functions:


  • Supervise and coordinate the work of the scaffolding division and team, ensuring tasks are completed and materials are prepared according to project timelines, quality specifications and safety standards
  • Develop man-power requirements to commence and complete projects
  • Work with the human resources team through hire requests, interviews, hiring, etc.
  • Manage, supervise, and support employees
  • Allocate operational resources to meet customer and company requirements
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers and project managers
  • Supervise rental requirements, ensuring equipment is properly maintained and returned
  • Prepare estimates from drawings and site visits
  • Identify opportunities for training and development of employees to support their career advancement
  • Support the execution of the company’s safety programs and ensure compliance with HSE policies
  • Perform other duties assigned by supervisor

Requirements

Physical Requirements:


  • Standing, sitting, walking, stooping, kneeling, talking, hearing and seeing
  • Turning, twisting and bending
  • Pushing, pulling and reaching
  • Must be able to lift and/or move 25-50 pounds

Job Requirements:


  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills
  • Ability to identify and resolve issues quickly and effectively
  • Strong understanding of scaffolding techniques, safety standards and construction regulations
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen
  • Must be able to pass a background check

Desirable Experience, Education, and Training:


  • Bachelor’s degree in business management or related field and/or 12+ years of scaffolding management
  • 5+ years experience in scaffolding management
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Environmental Conditions:


80% to 90% of the work activities are performed indoors. Outdoor activities, such as yard tours and job site visits, will be required as part of the role. Gulf Island will not sponsor applications for work visas.
