Sol Systems is seeking a Portfolio Manager to join the Asset Management team. The Asset Management team supports Sol's strategic vision by monitoring the company’s direct investments, managing market, financial, and regulatory exposure from existing contracts and new projects, and advising the company on strategic initiatives. The team also helps Sol’s clients manage their solar investments through transaction monitoring, performance monitoring, financial analysis and advisory services.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Coordinating the onboarding of projects with internal and external teams from the start of construction to commercial operation.
  • Acting as the primary contact with fund or project counterparties and investors.  
  • Providing regular updates to investors on project performance and financial returns.  
  • Working with EPC contractors and Sol’s internal project management team to track construction progress and communicate timing to internal teams and investors.  
  • Managing financing draws with investors, debt providers and project counterparties.  
  • Coordinating with other asset management staff and Sol’s accounting team as well as technical and legal advisors. 
  • Overseeing workflow of junior support staff.  

A successful candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:


  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Three or more years of experience in renewable energy asset management, project management and/or project finance.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to succinctly summarize complex financial and technical issues, both in writing and verbally.  
  • Ability to organize and manage workflows across different teams and individuals.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.  
  • Flexibility and ability to work in a small office, open floor plan environment.

Location & Hours: 

This is a full-time role and will be based in our Washington, DC office.
