The Job


This role reviews rotating equipment data and design to ensure everything is installed in accordance with manufacturers' requirements. You will train operators and mechanical technicians on machinery care and repair. You'll also be responsible for reliability or maintenance of the plant after startup.  

Accountabilities


- Reviews and approves equipment data/specifications.  - Works with EPC Contractor to evaluate the vendor's proposal.  - Ensures all machinery is properly maintained every week when stored outdoor at site before installation.  - Liaises and participates with EPC Contractor on the pre-commission/commission procedures/activities, including witness alignment, ensuring bearing temperature and vibration meet manufacturer's specifications, data sheets, etc. - Accepts handover of rotating equipment from EPC Contractor. 

Responsibilities


  • Witness, sign off, and accept all equipment and ensure proper installation in accordance with manufacturer's procedure/recommendation. 
  • Develop machinery maintenance procedure. 
  • Supervise the marking and installation of the vibration/temperature reading points for machinery. 
  • Train operators on Operator Basic Care activities – taking bearing temperature and vibration readings and changing lubricating oil. 
  • Train mechanical technicians on the proper reverse dial/laser methods on equipment alignment. 
  • Measure and record all equipment parts clearances before and after repair meets design. 
  • Tracks and reports monthly rotating equipment MTBR (Mean Time Before Repair) performance. 
  • Supports operations and maintenance in troubleshooting on equipment. 
  • Provide preventive maintenance programs on machinery. 
  • During pre-commissioning and commissioning period, this position is responsible for planning and reviewing daily pre-commissioning/commissioning activities in coordination with related parties (contractors, operations team, etc.), issue mark-up master P&ID for pre-commissioning/commissioning activities. 

Minimum Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree on Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with intimate knowledge of API standard 682 plans. 
  • 7+years Engineering experience with detailed knowledge of rotating equipment including design standards, specifications, control system, performance testing, operations, maintenance and interactions with OEM’s. 
  • 2+years experience as rotating equipment engineer.

Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience with handling solid materials. 
  • Demonstrated ability to function in multi-cultural environment. 
  • Excellent written and oral English skills. 
  • Strong organizational, planning and coordination skills. 
  • Strong technical, prioritization and management skills. 
  • Good communication, influencing and interfacing skills. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
