Software Engineer II, Web Development

Headquartered in Cambridge, MA, with offices in Budapest, Chennai, Seattle, Tokyo, and Zagreb, CMT measures and protects tens of millions of drivers across the world every day.CMT is seeking a Software Engineer to help our team produce scalable software solutions to reliably collect and manage data from sensors on smartphones and connected devices in vehicles. In this role, you will design architecture, build front-end applications, and build features and applications that meet the needs of our customers. Responsibilities:


  • Develop visually appealing, dynamic, and responsive web applications using Python, SQL, React, Django,JavaScript, and HTML; with a focus on maintainability, usability, scalability, and performance
  • Collaborate with development teams and product managers to brainstorm software solutions
  • Assist in solving complex problems and transform them into business solutions
  • Analyze and translate business and functional specifications and change requests into technical specifications
  • Design both client-side and server-side architectures
  • Create effective APIs
  • Perform software testing to ensure performance and responsiveness
  • Debug, troubleshoot, and enhance software
  • Implement security and data protection measures
  • Participate in code and design reviews
  • Make contributions to the team using proper software development procedures and methods
  • Follow CMT’s development and operational standards and processes
  • Provide required support and troubleshoot production. As needed, potentially subject to on-call responsibilities
  • Complete any additional tasks as they arise

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience and/or certification in Computer Science or related field
  • 4+ years of relevant working experience in web application development and programming
  • Experience in full stack development (Backend DB : Postgres or Mysql , Middletier : Python)
  • Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and modern JS frameworks like React or Angular
  • Familiarity with the entire web application stack, including APIs and databases
  • Knowledge of Python
  • Ability to work independently and adapt quickly
  • Ability to learn quickly

Nice to Have:


  • Understanding of web security and session management
  • Hands-on experience with network diagnostics and analytics tools
