Through a fun, experience-based curriculum that creatively integrates running, we inspire girls to be joyful, healthy, and confident.

Each year, we serve over 150 girls across Bernalillo, Sandoval and Valencia counties.At Girls on the Run, we are committed to ensuring that all girls and communities have access to our programs. By eliminating barriers to participation, fostering staff and volunteer diversity, and cultivating a culture of inclusion, we work to create meaningful, positive change for all.Position SummaryThe External Events and Partnerships Coordinator will play a key role in advancing the mission of Girls on the Run Rio Grande. This part-time position focuses on planning and executing impactful events, including celebratory 5Ks and fundraisers, while developing and strengthening partnerships within the community.If you’re an organized, enthusiastic professional who thrives on building relationships and delivering meaningful events, this is the role for you!Key ResponsibilitiesEvent Planning and Coordination

  • Assist in planning and executing Girls on the Run events, including seasonal 5Ks, fundraising events, and community outreach activities.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director to manage event logistics, timelines, budgets, and volunteer coordination.
  • Ensure events align with Girls on the Run’s mission and brand, creating joyful, engaging experiences for participants and attendees.

Community Partnerships

  • Build and maintain relationships with community partners, sponsors, and local organizations.
  • Research and identify potential new partnerships to expand program reach and funding opportunities.
  • Coordinate sponsorships, in-kind donations, and partnership agreements to support events and programming.

Administrative Support

  • Track event and partnership metrics to measure impact and inform decision-making.
  • Prepare reports and materials for sponsors, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Assist with event-related marketing, communications, and outreach efforts.

Qualifications

  • Passion for the mission of Girls on the Run and a commitment to empowering young people.
  • Proven experience in event planning, community engagement, or partnership development.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across diverse communities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and familiarity with event planning tools or donor management systems is a plus.
  • Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends as needed for events.

Compensation and BenefitsThis is an hourly, non-exempt position offering a compensation range of $22 - $27 per hour, depending on experience. Life at Girls on the Run

Girls on the Run is a transformational physical activity based positive youth development program for girls in 3rd-8th grade. We teach life skills through dynamic, interactive lessons and running games. The program culminates with the girls being physically and emotionally prepared to complete a celebratory 5K running event. The goal of the program is to unleash confidence through accomplishment while establishing a lifetime appreciation of health and fitness.\n\nGirls on the Run International (GOTRI) is the parent organization of more than 200 Girls on the Run councils across the United States and Canada. GOTRI establishes, trains and supports a network of community-level councils with local volunteers. The volunteers serve as role models to the girls through coaching the 10-week, 20 lesson curricula. The curriculum is delivered in these areas through after-school programs, recreation centers and other non-profit settings.\n\nMission: We inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.\n \nVision: We envision a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams.
