Position Overview
The Planning Intern, a fully remote position, will report directly to the Planning and Inventory Management Manager and plays a critical role in supporting a world-class, data-driven supply chain system to effectively estimate future inventory needs based on a virtual model where millions of tires a year are sold. Duties include planning optimal inventory, analyzing statistical data, and generating forecasting solutions.
Essential job functions:
- Develop, maintain, and improve a unit sales forecast and inventory plan for a specific business category
- Identify/manage exceptions, and monitor performance to continually improve the quality and reliability of the plan
- Ensure that baseline demand is appropriately forecasted and maintained
- Improve forecast accuracy by analyzing forecast error, recommending, and implementing appropriate action plans.
- Develop and maintain reports to track and monitor the forecasts, alerts for corrections/improvements and other analytical insights

Qualifications
Minimum Job Requirements
- Exceptional Analytical Skills - Excel, Access, and/or SQL
- Pursuing a degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
- Detail-oriented with the ability to draw insights from analyses
- Passion for business and driving results
- Strong communications skills in a digital and global environment
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (such as PowerBI or Tableau)
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
- Ability to sit for long periods of time.
- Talking through the computer for many meetings and one-to-one conversations
- Continuous viewing of a computer monitor and data entry.
- Travel as necessary (<10%).
