The Senior Manager of Production is responsible for overseeing all aspects of production, shipping, receiving, and distributed warehouse operations to ensure operational efficiency and the timely deployment of equipment while adhering to the company’s quality & safety standards. This role involves managing a team of production/shipping & receiving staff, coordinating schedules, optimizing workflows, and ensuring compliance with company policies, regulations, and quality processes. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, possess good organizational & problem-solving skills, be detail-oriented, love processes & SOPs, is inquisitive and metrics-driven.

  • Lead and manage the production team, warehouse, shipping & receiving including supervisors, technicians, and other personnel.
  • Train, develop, and mentor team members to improve performance and promote company core values.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance work culture.

Production Planning & Scheduling:

  • Oversee production schedules to ensure timely and efficient product output.
  • Collaborate with other departments (e.g., procurement, project management, field services) to align production timelines and asset positioning with inventory and demand.
  • Optimize production workflows to meet volume, quality, and cost targets.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement strategies to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives and promote operational excellence.
  • Monitor team performance & quality metrics, and implement corrective actions as needed.

Quality Assurance & Compliance:

  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and compliance with company processes, policies, and standards.
  • Resolve quality control issues and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to maintain high standards of production. The ability to inspect what you expect is critical.

Budget & Resource Management:

  • Develop and manage production budgets and personnel rosters to ensure cost control and resource optimization.
  • Manage the allocation of materials, labor, and machinery to meet production goals.
  • Monitor and report on key production and quality KPIs, providing data-driven insights to senior leadership.

Safety & Risk Management:

  • Promote a culture of safety and enforce health and safety regulations in the warehouse and office environment.
  • Address and resolve any safety hazards or issues promptly.
  • Conduct safety training and ensure adherence to workplace safety protocols.

Communication & Reporting:

  • Regularly report on production progress, challenges, and achievements to senior management.
  • Facilitate communication between different departments to ensure alignment on production goals.
  • Handle escalations and resolve issues that may impact production timelines or quality.

SKILLS & ABILITIESEducation: Bachelor’s Degree Experience:

  • Minimum 7-10 years experience in the management of people and manufacturing processes to include knowledge of assembly, costing, and quality control, with at least 3 years in a managerial leadership capacity.
  • Ability to achieve desired results by working with and through others
  • Self- starter with strong initiative; able to work effectively with minimal supervision
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

Computer Skills:

  • Experience with an ERP software such as Netsuite
  • Experience using Google Suite, ZenDesk

Supervisory Responsibility: 

  • This role will have direct reports and supervisory responsibility
