You will also support industry events, career fairs, and member educationinitiatives,enhancingthevisitorexperienceandleavingapositive,lastingimpacton our vibrant community.What You’ll Do:
- Elevate member lodging promotions, such as "Third Night Free" and "Locals 30% Discount," by managing outreach, creative assets, website updates, and monthly reporting.
- Help to coordinateandexecutemonthly“LunchandLearn”sessions,quarterly member networking events, periodic hospitality career fairs, and I Am Santa Barbara destination training for hospitality workers, including email communication, event preparation, presentations, and post-event surveys.
- Support large membership events like the Annual General Meeting and Tourism Outlook Forum by managing communication with attendees and officials, event logistics, speaker itineraries,andpost-eventanalysis.
- Leadnewmembershipsalesandonboarding,facilitateannualrenewals,andmaintain accurate membership records through the CRM system, invoicing, and member communication.
- Maintain positive relationships with members, providing feedback to the Director, addressing member concerns, and sharing the value of Visit Santa Barbara services.
- OverseeprojecttimelinesandcontentforVisitSantaBarbara’squarterly andannual
reports, collaborating on copywriting and editing tasks.
- Managethemonthlyindustrynewsletter,includingcontentrequests,drafting,editing, anddistributiontomembership,ensuringconsistentcommunicationandengagement.
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
- Bachelor’sdegreeinbusiness,communications,orarelatedfield.
- 2ormoreyearsofprojectmanagementand/oreventplanningexperience.
- Strongcommunicationskills(written,verbal,andpresentation).
- Exceptionalcustomerserviceandrelationship-buildingabilities.
- ProficiencyinMicrosoftOfficeSuite.
- Expertiseinprioritization,timemanagement,andmultitasking.
- Experience in public speaking and presenting.
- Abilitytoworkindependentlyandcollaborativelywithminimalsupervision.
- Familiarity with the hospitality industry and the Santa Barbara South Coast region.
- California Driver’s License, auto insurance, and access to a personal vehicle for business use.
- Abilitytotravelwithinalimitedgeographicalregion.
- Mustbeabletoliftupto40lbs.andtransportequipmentandmaterialsasneeded.
