About the Role
The Data Scientist will inform business stakeholder decision making through predictive and prescriptive modeling. You will design innovative analytic approaches to test hypotheses, extract actionable insights by identifying patterns in structured and unstructured data, and develop recommendations to drive business performance. You will be instrumental in leading the use of analytics as a critical value driver and source of competitive advantage across our organization. The right person for this role has exceptional analytical abilities, expertise in statistical modeling techniques, and a demonstrated ability to apply analytics to solve business problems and identify opportunities.What you’ll do
- Partner with other departments to solve problems, identify trends and opportunities with data services.
- Help to assess and implement new technologies that power data science including training statistical and ML models at scale.
- Participate in building and maintaining data services that provide novel features for our business
- Develop insights and analyses that inform decisions.
- Participate in actively maintaining the integrity and performance of analytical systems.
- Build reports, dashboards, metrics and models to monitor and improve the performance of our company.
- Leverage data to evaluate new strategic initiatives - isolate the correct factors, metrics to monitor and targets.
- Distill complex data algorithms into easily understood business insights and decisions to help drive performance.
- Partner with engineers to:
- Ensure data is appropriately identified, recorded, transformed, and furnished for consumption – including statistical analysis and predictive modeling.
- Build real time and offline features while also maintaining the datasets from which models are created.
- Apply advanced analytics techniques (core statistical-modeling, data visualization, data mining, machine learning, artificial intelligence) to extract actionable insights through analysis of large-scale, high-dimensional data.
- Drive the collection of new data and the manipulation and refinement of existing data sources.
- Document steps and data sources and ensure that the models are easily understandable and maintainable.
- Measure and improve the quality of analytics solutions on an ongoing basis.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, Computer Science or equivalent. Master’s degree in quantitative field or MBA strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of industry experience working with and analyzing large data sets to build models.
- Strong background in statistics.
- Proficiency in at least one high level programing languages like Java, Scala, Python, Ruby, C++ etc.
- Proficiency in SQL. Experience querying large, complex data sets.
- Experience in data visualization tools like Tableau, QlikView, MicroStrategy etc. desired.
- Experience in big data ecosystems (Hadoop, No-SQL etc.) desired.
- Experience with Python modeling (tensorflow, pycaret, scikitlearn, pytorch, matlib, etc)
- Familiarity with reporting tools like Tableau, Domo, Looker, etc. is a plus.
- Familiarity with Hadoop+Spark/DataBricks is a plus.
- Familiarity with a high-level programming language is a plus.
- Experience with scalable relational databases (eg Snowflake/Vertica/Redshift/etc.)
