Model Based Software Verification Engineer

MODEL-BASED SOFTWARE VERIFICATION ENGINEER - EL SEGUNDO, CA


In this role, you will be responsible for both the verification and validation of the Fly-By-Wire software adhering to DO-178 standards. You will develop and review requirement-based tests to verify the model-based software per DO-331 and 178C. You will assist in the development of certifiable flight automation technologies and cost-efficient processes for the new Urban Commercial Aviation industry. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Write and review requirement-based test cases and procedures to verify model-based flight software per DO-331objectives.
  • Understand high level control system requirements.
  • Perform unit tests and debug software based on the verification tests. 
  • Work with the Designated Engineering Representative (DER) and systems engineers for successful completion of SOI audits.
  • Create software verification solutions for efficient workflow using MATLAB, Simulink.
  • Perform test case coverage analysis, MC/DC tests using Mathworks tools like Simulink Tests, Code Coverage, Requirements Toolbox.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering discipline 
  • 5+ years of professional working experience
  • Experience with Control System Algorithms, Mathworks tools
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently with minimal supervision to influence organization
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in software requirement development and requirement-based test development

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Master of Science degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering discipline 
  • Experience with RTOS, C/C++
  • Knowledge of developing automation tools using Mathworks for test case development and code analysis
  • Experience with certification of software, systems and subsystems working with DER/FAA
  • Experience in design, develop, verify and certify Fly-by-wire operational flight software using model-based development conforming to DO-331
