About the Role: This position requires the individual to have a permanent remote office based within a 4-hour drive or 2-hour flight to the Oxford Atlanta HQ, and the ability to travel as needed (approx. 10%).


The Environmental Sustainability Analyst is responsible for supporting the daily operation of Oxford’s environmental sustainability program across our portfolio of brands (Tommy Bahama, Lilly Pulitzer, Johnny Was, Southern Tide, The Beaufort Bonnet Company, Duck Head, and Jack Rogers). The role collaborates frequently with our cross-functional brand partners and works closely with suppliers to achieve our environmental sustainability program’s goals and priorities. The analyst will support management and track progress of environmental sustainability workstreams including environmental assessment, chemicals management, and preferred materials verification.

  • Ensure suppliers meet Oxford’s Higg Facility Environmental Module (Higg FEM) requirements by launching the annual Higg FEM cadence, tracking supplier progress, providing data analysis, and supporting improvement plans for suppliers who do not meet performance requirements.
  • Support accurate product claims by collaborating with brand teams to ensure claims have appropriate supporting documentation and claim language has been reviewed and approved by the Corporate Responsibility team.
  • Support the implementation of Oxford’s chemicals management program, including implementing ZDHC’s MRSL and Supplier to Zero program, supporting the development of supplier education and guidance, tracking progress, and remediation planning.
  • Establish effective relationships and coordinate with global suppliers and relevant Oxford and brand teams including Sustainability, Production, Sourcing, Product Development, Materials, Design, Trade Compliance, and Legal among others.
  • Build and maintain expertise in environmental laws, regulations, standards, reporting requirements, and awareness of industry landscape and best practices.
  • Provide inputs to support reporting obligations (climate disclosures, Higg BRM, and annual reports for membership organizations), external communications like Oxford’s Corporate Responsibility report and brand websites, and internal communications to optimize enterprise-wide awareness and engagement.
  • Research opportunities and partnerships to support reductions in carbon and water consumption within the supply chain.
  • Engage with relevant industry associations and member organizations like the American Apparel & Footwear Association, Cascale, Textile Exchange, and ZDHC to benchmark with peers, ensure compliance with membership requirements, and monitor relevant risks.
  • Track relevant legislation and industry best practices and proactively recommend ways to improve and build upon Oxford’s environmental sustainability program.
  • Support other corporate responsibility projects, as needed.

Who we would like to meet: 

  • Bachelor’s degree required, ideally in sustainability, environmental science, textile/materials science, chemical engineering, or related field.
  • Generally, 1-2+ years of sustainability, chemicals management, or other related experience, preferably within an apparel brand and in a supplier-facing role.
  • Familiarity with global environmental laws and reporting frameworks, preferably as they relate to the apparel and footwear industry.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications and willingness to learn relevant software tools.
  • Foreign language skills relevant to the supplier base a plus.
