To support its growth and improve shareholder communications, CRI has created a new position and seeks to hire a Funds Specialist as an addition to the Captive Investors Fund (CIF) team. Reporting to the Fund’s Chairman, this position will encompass a broad range of responsibilities supporting the CIF team, CIF board members and CRI captive finance professionals in communicating the value of the Fund to its shareholders and shareholder’s members.
The primary responsibilities of the position will be working with the investment team supporting content development, shareholder communications and presenting regular Fund updates to group captives at their off-shore board meetings. The role entails significant captive member interaction, which will grow materially over time with experience. The position requires extensive travel representing about 35% of working days based on expected attendance of 15 to 18 meetings, three to four day off-shore captive board meetings annually.
About Captive Investors Fund
The Captive Investors Fund (“CIF” or “Fund”) was established in 1994 to be the primary investment vehicle for CRI group captive insurance company clients and has grown to over $9.2 billion in assets under management. The CIF is a multi-asset balanced fund that employs an endowment style, manager of managers approach. The Fund is domiciled in the Cayman Islands and regulated by the Cayman Island Monetary Authority. The CIF and its sister funds have significantly increased the number of captive insurance company shareholders and is expected to continue increasing shareholders by 2 to 3 per year and assets at an annual rate of 10% to 15%.
ESSENTIAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree required. Degree in quantitative majors such as Accounting, Business/Finance or Mathematics preferred. 5 to 10 years of experience in investment management or a related financial field. Solid understanding of financial markets with knowledge of fixed income, credit, public equity and alternative investments.

- Superior attention to detail.
- Professional certifications are highly desirable (including Series 63 or 65, CFA, CIMA and/or CAIA).
- MBAs with relevant investment or banking experience will also be considered.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work alongside the Chief Investment Officer, the investment team, finance, legal and marketing professionals to develop and maintain communications materials for board books and presentations.
- Maintain regular interactions with other groups across the firm including captive executives, business development executives and captive finance professionals.
- Assume a proactive approach to executing a broad range of communication responsibilities for the Fund, including maintaining and updating the Fund’s web portal content, monthly presentation slide decks, annual Board of Directors orientation, Investment Advisor orientation, and customized group captive board presentations on behalf of the team.
- Maintain an ongoing understanding of CIF and CIF II fund positioning, SMA portfolios and current exposures.
- Help the team develop commentary and summarize key observations for both internal and external communications regarding analyzing drivers of performance and fund attribution.
- Create new content to define and reinforce messaging around the Fund’s investment strategy, investment performance and fund benefits.
- Aid investment professionals in writing investment thesis and high-level investment strategy reports.
- Assist in the drafting monthly Director updates and outlook materials, including quarterly capital markets review.
- Support the CIF team’s preparation of CIF Board packages for The Captive Investors Fund, CIF Master SPC and Captive Investors Fund II bi-annual board meetings.
- Support the CIF’s team in preparing and presenting year-end and mid-year results to the CIF Investment Committee via virtual meetings.
- Organize and develop responses to credit bank inquiries and ad hoc data requests in coordination with the company’s CFO and Treasurer; eventual ability to represent the investment team in meetings with credit banks.
- Conduct periodic special projects related to forecasting growth, market intelligence, market trends and research, and another related topics.
